The flag of Kuwait was accepted on September 7, 1961, and formally hoisted November 24, 1961. Earlier 1961, the Kuwait Flag was red and white, resembling other Persian Gulf states at the time, with the arena being red and words or custodies being written in white.

During the historical of Ottoman law in Kuwait, the Ottoman flag, red with a white semicircular and star, was used. This flag was booked after the country developed a British protectorate in the Anglo-Kuwaiti Agreement of 1899. Two dissimilar flag design was proposed but not approved in the period after this. The first proposal for Flag of Kuwait was given in 1906

History of Kuwait Flag

The Ottoman flag was being hover until the First World War, when friendly-fire events with the British in 1914 throughout the Mesopotamian campaign about the river Shatt al-Arab happened due to Kuwait and the opponent Ottomans both using the same flag. The red flag continued the national flag of Kuwait undecided the acceptance of the current one in September 1961. The current flag is in the Pan-Arab colors, but each color is also notable in its own right. Black signifies the defeat of the enemy, while red is the color of blood on the swords. Whereas, white defines purity, and green is for the fertile land.

Kuwait Flag Design and Symbolic Meaning

The flag of Kuwait has been approved in the year 1961. It is calm of three bands in the old-style pan-Arab colors - green, white, and black. In the left part of the flag, a black trapezoid is situated. The official clarification of the colors castoff is as follows: white signifies our actions, green our pastures, black symbolize for our struggles and red for future blemished with blood of our enemies. Other interpretation based on the general Arabic poem says that green characterizes fertility, white peace, red chivalry, and black battleground or sand kicked up by the Kuwaiti provisos while aggressive for freedom. Formerly, Kuwait was a part of the Ottoman Empire, but later it gained independence and using the same flag.
