The flag of Lebanon is formed of two flat red bands enveloping a horizontal white color stripe. The white color stripe is twice the height of the red ones forming the ratio of 1:2:1. This makes a Spanish fess. Lebanon Flag has green cedar in the centre that touches each of the red bands and its one third of the width of the flag.
On September 1, 1920, French military administration with the state of Greater Lebanon was announced under a flag resulting from French and biblical symbols. In the flag of Lebanon, cedar tree was designed on the white central band of the French Tricolor, though earlier it had been inscribed on a plain flag carried by Christian crowds in the Lebanese Legion during World War I. In initial historic times cedars of Lebanon were abundant throughout the area. The cedar tree was stated in the Bible as a representation of strength and wealth.
A novel national flag was then shaped that upheld the cedar tree but eradicated the French Tricolor. The bands of the new flag were flat instead of perpendicular and limited to red and white. Historically, those colors had been related, correspondingly, with the Kayssites and the Yemenites, clans that had supposedly existed for more than a thousand years. The cedar of the 1943 flag was hypothetical to be completely green, although later representations occasionally added a naturalistic brown to the stem and branches.
The Presence and location of the Cedar in the central of the flag is straight enthused by the mountains of Lebanon cedar. The Cedar is a representation of holiness, perpetuity and peace. As an emblem of permanence, the cedar of Lebanon has its source in many biblical orientations. The white color on the flag signifies the snow as a symbol of transparency and peace. The two red bands refer to the Lebanese blood shed to reservation the country against the consecutive invaders.
