The Palestinian flag is a tricolor has three equivalent horizontal bands, which are black, white, and green from top to bottom. This flag is resulting from the Pan-Arab colors representing the State of Palestine and the Palestinian individuals. It was initially approved on 28 May 1964 by the Palestinian Liberation Organization.
The flag is almost identical to the Hashemite Kingdom of Hejaz. The flag of Palestine is also very alike to the Flag of Jordan and Flag of Western Sahara, all of which attraction their stimulus from the Arab Revolt in contradiction of Ottoman rule (1916–1918). The flag of the Arab Revolt had the similar graphic form, but the colors were decided inversely.
The flag applied by the Arab Palestinian separatists in the first half of the 20th century. The roots of the flag are the topic of dispute and folklore. In one version, the colors were selected by the Arab nationalist 'Literary Club' in Istanbul in 1909, built on the arguments of the 13th-century Arab poet Safi al-Din al-Hili. On October 18, 1948, the flag of the Arab Revolt was approved. An adapted version was formally adopted as the flag of the Palestinian persons by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in 1964. On November 15, 1988 the PLO accepted the flag of the State of Palestine. On the crushed the flag developed extensively used since the Oslo Agreements, with the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1993.
The flag of Palestine has a black color stripe that signifies the first Islamic group to emerge after the assassination of Caliph Uthman III and the Prophet Mohammad (570-632). “There is no god but God (Allah) and Mohammad is the Prophet of God." The white stripe is a symbolic color as a reminder of the Prophet's first battle. The stripe green was founded in Morocco by Abdullah Al-Mahdi, and went on rule all of North Africa.
